Append Array for emails

All, 

I want to append a variable with only emails that end in "@loft.com" for example this output for Compose_5 will have 

johnwade@loft.com;jason.chan@loft.com;steven_mauceri@test.com;

I want my variable to only have johnwade@loft.com;jason.chan@loft.com

Is this possible?

@PowerAppsUser99 You don't need to append to variable. The Required Attendees dynamic content is returned as as string of email addresses.

If you've already run a test on your flow, I'd recommend getting the Item Id from your test run and copying it to your clipboard.

Manual Trigger

This way you can add a manual trigger to your flow while you build and test it without needing to leave PA to add an item to your calendar. This will speed up your flow building workflow.

Add a Get Event (V3) action and paste the Item Id into it.

Convert Attendee String to Array

Add another Compose action and insert an expression. Use the split() function. Tip: Remember to rename your actions. This is especially important when you have multiple instances of the same action.

Click on the Dynamic Content tab and insert the output from the Compose action above, add a comma and a semi-colon between single quotes.

Run a test. Review the outputs.

Filter Email Addresses

Add a Filter Array action. In the from field, insert the output from the Compose action above (the one that contains your array). Ensure you are selecting the correct output from the correct action (this is why it's important to rename your actions).

In the first value field, insert an expression and use the item() function.

Select the appropriate operator. Since my email addresses all contain the same domain—I'll chose the does not end with operator (for demo purposes). However, in your case you'll need to select ends with. Enter the domain into the second value field (omit the @ symbol).

Return Count of Items

Whenever I use a Filter Array action, I always like to return the count of items returned in a Compose action. This is helpful when building a flow and can also be used to troubleshoot your flow. Insert a Compose action. Add an Expression. Use the length() function.

Select the Dynamic content tab and insert the body dynamic content from the Filter Array action into the length() function.

Run a test. My Compose action has returned 1. This is because the last item in the array is empty.

We'll need to add an additional condition to the Filter Array action.

Add Multiple Conditions to a Filter Array Action

Reference this section of this YT tutorial for how to add multiple conditions to a Filter Array action. Click on the Edit in advanced mode button.

Copy the expression to your clipboard and paste it into a text editor. This is because it's impossible to type in this field as the cursor jumps around.

In your text editor, add a comma and this expression:

not(empty(item())

This expression will check to see if the item is not empty.

Place your cursor at the start of the expression after the @ symbol and wrap the entire expression in an and() function.

Copy the entire expression to your clipboard and paste it into the advanced editor of the Filter Array action.

Run a test.

Condition Check

Add a Condition action to your flow. If items have returned (aka there is number stored in the Compose action—that is not equal to 0), add the rest of your actions to the Yes branch. If not, do nothing.

How do I filter this string to only append the emails that end with loft.com?

I will have 10+ emails in the required field for some cases and I only want to return the email address end with loft.com

This didn't work please see images. The output body of the filter array is blank

@PowerAppsUser99 You will need to remove the quotes around the text you entered in your second value field. I would also recommend changing the operator as originally recommend to 'ends with'.

One issue, It's bringing the entire array in the output instead of only parsing the 'langan.com' addresses.

@PowerAppsUser99 The input in your Filter Array isn't an array. If it was an array, it would look like this. 

What does the output of your Compose action with the split() function look like? It should look like this.
