Flow to trigger only on first app use

Hi, 

I have a canvas app which patches to dataverse on a new row. 

My flow's action is "When a row is added", to send various emails. I want to amend this so that this flow is only triggered when the user first uses the app (or, in other words, their first dataverse entry within that Dataverse table).

Is this possible?

A couple of ways to handle this:

1. Put a trigger condition on the flow that will only allow it to fire for a condition that indicates a first-time user
2. Put a field in the table that gets toggled the first time each user starts the app, and is used thereafter as a condition to decide if the current user is first-time or not

Thanks, I would like the Flow to do this. Which action should I use?

I have tried Search Rows (Dataverse) and List Rows (Dataverse), but I think only Search Rows can count the rows which match and I don't know where I am going wrong with the variables.

My table name is "Accounts" and the search term I could use from dynamic content is "Person Name". There is a column in the Accounts table which is "Updated By Name". 

I want it so that the Person Name dynamic content variable looks up on the Accounts table's Updated by Name column and if there are no results, continue with the flow, but if there is 1 or more results which meet these conditions (so the Person Name appears 1 or more times in the Accounts table's Updated by Name), for the Flow to stop.

Here is the flow currently, with an arrow of where the dataverse action and condition will need to be...

I am really really stuck.

I think you're on the right track. Ignore my comment about using a trigger condition - that wouldn't work for this situation. However, we can use a search block to figure out if this person has created records in the table before:

If the person has added records to the list previously, then the row count is greater than 0. This means for your case, the "If Yes" side of the condition should do nothing, while the "If No" side would contain blocks to send out emails as appropriate.

Does that fit your situation?

The Search by Rows doesn't configure the columns to search by - that happens at the table level in Dataverse. This blog - see section titled "Which Columns are Searchable" that touches on it. You define the columns that get included in searches by editing the Find Table Columns for the table itself.
