Hello,
I've created a Powerapp based on a Sharepoint list that will be used for New Hire onboarding.
I've created a column in my sharepoint list that allows you to type in the name and it will pull from our o365 users and allow you to select. This works perfectly in the powerapp and pulls in their name.
I would like to take it a step further. I would like to create a new column in the Sharepoint list that can list their Job Title or department or Phone # and pull the info from their o365 profile but I am not sure how to do that. I can't find a great way to utilize this info: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/connections/connection-office365-users to accomplish what I want.
Thank you!
Eric

@ThatAPIGuy Sure thing!
First screen shows the properties of the Department DataCard
This snip shows the ComboBox Properties of where you would enter the EmployeeName
@ThatAPIGuyRather than pull the info from the list in Sharepoint I went down the avenue of creating a new ComboBox with Items = Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm:""})
Can I then use a text label with this function Office365Users.UserProfile(ComboBox1.???).Department to pull the Department info?
I'm not sure what needs to go after (ComboBox1.) to make that happen.
just found out what i was doing wrong.
follow your same method as you were using and change the formula for department default text to-
If(IsBlank(DataCardValue130.Selected.Mail)=false,Office365Users.UserProfile(DataCardValue130.Selected.Mail).JobTitle)
Let me know if it doesn't work.

I didn't test it out exactly the same as on your side, and thus I suggested a wrong formula.
It would work if the datacard was just a normal text input, but in this case it being a combox you need to use
DatacardValue ->Selected- >Mail

@ThatAPIGuyUnfortunately, that did not work either.
I'm wondering if there is a better way to tackle it at this point?
Essentially I am wanting to create a New Hire checklist so that I can keep track of the new hires in a list, have a form with all their o365 data along with other checklist items and then be able to save the form in the list.
have you checked out the onboarding sample app?
https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/office-template-onboarding-tasks-now-available/
I know you are probably going wrong somewhere around the combobox values of the Employee name.
if the sample app is not what you are looking for, let me know and let's see how can we get it sorted out

try this as your employee name combo box fields are Displayname, Email
If(IsBlank(DataCardValue130.Selected.Email)=false,Office365Users.UserProfile(DataCardValue130.Selected.Email).JobTitle)

@ThatAPIGuyMany, many thanks. That was it exactly and it works perfectly now. This is fantastic!
