Hello,

Hoping someone can help shed some light on this. I've tried researching this sentence and read every article I could find but most were about PowerBI or Flow. A couple users of mine are receiving this error when trying to load two apps (Let's call them ABC and DEF) I made. Here is what I know so far...Error message when trying to load the app.Error message when trying to load the app.

  1. Apps ABC and DEF work with no issue on all MY devices as well as a couple other colleagues.
  2. I just started noticing it in the last couple weeks.
  3. They get the error message on mobile and desktop both.
  4. Another app, (I'll call it XYZ) works fine on their devices, no errors so I'm thinking it's not a gateway/permissions issue.
  5. The message appears to be connected to a row count somehow, in app ABC, only two error message boxes pop up, in app DEF, hundreds pop up one after another, it must be trying to load a table.
  6. I've most likely added and/or made changes to a column or two but i've dropped the connection, waited a few minutes, reconnected and the columns had no errors. Plus like I mentioned earlier, I'm running the same apps on my devices with no errors.
  7. I verified that they are running the same version of PowerApps (3.19082.20)
  8. I tried having them clear the cache, restart the phone, sign out and back in, didn't do anything.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi @DTreg1 ,

What are the data sources included with these problematic apps?  If your app connects to data for which users need access permissions, you need to specify them.

For example, your app might connect to an entity in a Common Data Service database. When you share such an app, the sharing panel prompts you to manage security for that entity.

Assign a security role

For more information about sharing an app, please refer to:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/share-app

Regards,

Mona

@v-monli-msft Right now i'm using SQL Server. I think I found what may have been causing it. Some of the apps were created on older PowerApp platform versions. I created a new test app with the same sources and asked the user if they could view and they could. So then I looked at the advanced settings and noticed some settings had changes or disappeared. I setup the old app like the new, saved and reopened. Then for good measure (although I should have done this separately...) I removed all the sources, saved the app, waited 10 minutes, opened it back up, reconnected the sources and now it's working for them. Unfortunately i'm not sure if it was the updating of the advanced settings or clearing out the sources but I think next time I may just try the source clearing first.

Thank you for reaching out though!

Hello, so...now, on a completely separate app that I have that has been working very smoothly for months, I'm sharing with new users and we're getting this same error. I performed some troubleshooting to try and narrow it down. I have 3 tables and 1 view connected to the app. I removed all four, the app doesn't get the message. I reconnected all 3 tables, no message. I reconnected the VIEW, got the message.

I shared a separate more simple app with them as well and they didn't get the error. I created a whole new app with the view and shared it with them, works fine.

Part of the problem is that I'm not seeing the SQL icon at the allow screen which concerns me, I've tried clearing the cache in PowerApps as well as clearing the cache in the android app settings and clearing all data. I see it on the new app I had created but it seems to stuck with the old app. I also made sure they were on the latest version, .21.

Potentially a bug that's installing new versions of PowerApps that aren't the exact same as the versions that were installed months ago?

(I added Reza and v-xida-msft as I saw they had helped on some similar issues) The app was already off for explicit columns. I tried turning it on, saving, closing, opening, turned off, saved, closed hoping it would clear out any old connections but it didn't help.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. At this point I'm thinking I will need to rebuild on a new canvas but I'd like to get this solved so it doesn't happen on others.

Thank you!

@v-monli-msft @v-xida-msft ,

Hello, I was just wondering if you may have some guidance for me on this or know who I can contact to troubleshoot deeper. I've built around 10 apps so far and they would like another 10 here soon, this happened on another one just recently and i'm not sure I can keep rebuilding them every time 1 person out of hundreds gets this message. The messages are happening randomly after a decent time of no changes to the app but not everyone is affected. I've ruled out the possibility of device types.

Do P2 licenses have any technical support contacts or do all issues have to go through the community?
