New to Powerautomate!

Hello,

I just started using the Powerautomate app few days ago. I have 2 use cases that I need to make it work but I just cant figure out what to do or how to do it.

Background: Users who are going to be travelling will need to get approval before doing so by submitting the form. On the form there are set of questions that users need to answer.

User case1: If the users are travelling domestically and are on PTO and taking their work cellphone then we will send them an email saying its approved and we will create a calendar event on a shared HR calendar. (this part is easy to do for me)

I'm having trouble with the second part

Use case 2: If the user is travelling with their company devices domestically and they will not be taking the PTO (working from another location) then we need to do the following:

Be able to validate with their manager(s)'s email and ask them to approve then once that is done we will approve it on our end and that too will send an email to the user and create a calendar event on the HR's shared calendar.

Please any help would be appreciated!

Basically I got the first part down but I am not sure how to do the second part....I have terminate at No part because I was testing the first part

Hi @bruc3wayn3

For that you need  to first get the manager details  using email id of that one who submitted the form and then send an approval request to the manager using the email id of the manager and then if the manager approves it , send email and the create event based on it.

see the flow design [This has to be done in No branch of condition action]

Get manager details using Get Manager action by passing responder email id as input

Next use start and wait for approval to create a approval request for the manager so to approve the travel request like below

This will send a approval request to manager (in mail or in team or you can find the approval details in below menu

Once manager approves, flow will resume again (as it is paused at start and wait for approval action). and will check whwther the outcome of approval action is Approve or reject like below

Once manager approves in other words when above condition sets out to be true, bot sends an email and create an event.

Note: I am not sure whether you want to create an approval flow again after manager has approved it, if yes you can add it.

For details on approval flow, Get manager actions refer the below video
