How should I assign Default value of a Data Card to have there first item of 2/multiple personselectioncomboboxs from 2 or more datacards

I am wondering how can it be improved to have 2/ multiple value from different data fields/cards.

If(Form1.Mode = FormMode.New,

    "",

    ThisItem.DataSourceKey)

For example,

I have 1 data card with a  personselectorcombobox "Assigned To" and I want to this personselectorcombobox to take value from other 2 personselectorcomboboxs.

My current Default property of the datacard "Assigned To" is 

"""

If(Form1.Mode = FormMode.New, Table(First(personselectioncombobox.SelectedItems), First(personselectorcombobox2.SelectedItems)),ThisItem.'Assigned To ')

"""

However, it doesn't working. I am thinking I may have some syntax issue but I am not too sure.

It will work if I use the following:

If(ApprovalForm1.Mode = FormMode.New, First(personselectioncombobox.SelectedItems))

but I want to datacard "Assigned To" take 2 values from different personselectioncomboboxs

Would appreciate any of your insight and help.

Would be good to know what error you are getting. I have tried recreating your problem and don't receive any errors using your formula. The configuration I have on my SP list is:

PersonA - Person Field, single selection

PersonB - Person Field, single selection

PersonC - Person Field, multi selection

I have then set the default for the PersonC data card to your formula with fields adjusted as necessary and get no error.

If(Form1.Mode = FormMode.New, Table(First(PersonAComboBox.SelectedItems), First(PersonBComboBox.SelectedItems)),ThisItem.PersonC)

I also added Reset(PersonCComboBox) to both PersonAComboBox and PersonBComboBox in the OnChange property.

If you could provide an error hopefully we can get to the bottom of the problem.

Appreciate your help.

After I followed your suggestion: 

1.added Reset(PersonCComboBox) to both PersonAComboBox and PersonBComboBox in the OnChange property.

2. set the default for the PersonC data card : 

If(Form1.Mode = FormMode.New, Table(First(PersonAComboBox.SelectedItems), First(PersonBComboBox.SelectedItems)),ThisItem.PersonC)

I got no error.

However, the 

PersonC - Person Field, multi selection only show the PersonA, I want to show Person A and B together.

Please see attached:

 

I already set my Person C Column as Person and Group Field, multi selection in SharePoint List.

The only thing I can think from your screenshots is to check the person C combobox is set to allow multiple selections. As from the screenshot it looks like the combobox is just using the first item in the table you are constructing

It works. Person C field shows Person A and Person B when both of them are being selected.

Any chance you know how can make Person C to only display Person A when person B is blank, or only display Person B when Person A is blank?

Currently, the Person C field remains empty if Person A is selected but Person B isn't. I'd prefer it if Person C displayed the selected person regardless of whether Person A or Person B is selected. Is there a way to configure Person C to show Person A only when Person B is blank, or to show Person B only when Person A is blank?

I think you just need to filter out the blank record that PersonA or Person B is adding by not being selected. So try updating the PersonC datacard default to:

If(Form1.Mode = FormMode.New,Filter(Table(First(PersonAComboBox.SelectedItems),First(PersonBComboBox.SelectedItems)),!IsBlank(ThisRecord.Email)),ThisItem.PersonC)

 " in the formulas ?

And also after used this code, the SP 's Person C column doesn't updated. Any chance you know the reason and how can I fix it?

Hi @Melissssaaaa,

"ThisRecord.Value" should be what you use, it is referring to the current record in the filter. The only bits from the formula I provided you would need to change would be PersonAComboBox & PersonBComboBox to the name of the combobox on your form, and PersonC to the name of the relevant column in SharePoint
