PDF Viewer not showing pdf file in users computer

Hi all, 

I've seen a lot of post about how to view pdf file in powerapps without power automate.

In Reza's video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqK29FWbLxU&ab_channel=RezaDorrani )

he mentioned an incredible method to do it in a simple way, but soon i find out i can only read the pdf in my own account,

if other people login to the same page , it will show: you can't see the pdf file.

But, the solution that some people give in the comments seems womething wrong, can anyone help, please.

Questions...

1. Does the other person have permission to access the file outside of the app?
2. Can you share how you've setup this pdf viewer?

Yes, people can edit the file.

I believe the "appres://" prefix you have listed for your file url and the azure bit, all basically mean that's a Personal copy of that file in the cloud and only you have access to it. You'll need to change that to a url that is the actual storage location of your document. If the document is stored in SharePoint, you should be able to right-click the document, select details, and find the document url within.

I could be wrong though, as it's been a while since I last used the pdf viewer, or attempted to access files within a Canvas App.

But i already use the actual storage location and store this link in sharepoint 'pics' column, and the "appres://"~

is the value of the pics column in sharepoint.
i am wondering how can i change the url to the version that everyone can see. Is there ant id code i should change so that it won't include personal login information.

If it is in a Picture column, can you not simply reference the column name itself, instead of the storage location of the file?

I have the same problem. The "appres://" is slightly different for every user, so it requires setting a different link for each user separately.

I would also like to show a PDF file from my Sharepoint library in PDF Viewer to anyone who has permission without uploading the files in the app itself or using a Flow.

The logic of the PDF Viewer component in Power Apps is not very programmer-friendly 🙂 Not only can it be placed in a container, but it requires so much work to do what it seems to be doing - showing PDF files.

Can anyone help to fix this?

Hi Vivian , I am still struggling with this issue as well . I needed to convert all my PDFs to PPT images so it can be viewed in the app . Did you have any updates?

I am the same problem from Reza's video ...

People in his video are commenting solutions, but none of them are fully explained, very difficult to apply it to our use case ...

currently, none of them work for me, try them maybe ...
