Scan barcode to a Gallery, then to Sharepoint LIST

Basically my goal is to be able to scan a set of barcodes and display them before submitting and then submit them to a Sharepoint list for tracking.

the app looks like this for visual:

The Sharepoint list refered to. I want to place the recorded scans into the "Boxes Tested" column of the list.

Just to get it right.

Do you actually have two galleries there, one for Your list and one for Your collection of scanned barcodes?

You can't just loop thru records from the collection and apply them by Patch without relating them to a record in the list, so You need to find a way to relate them.

If You have Gallery 1, which has the whole record of what You want to Patch all barcodes to this is ok.

Another issue is You want to patch all barcodes to a Single text column, right? So You need also concat all barcode records rather than using the ForAll loop, so this part is unclear to me. Do You want all records in a single cell? If Yes here how You could do that but that's also depend on existance of the first gallery.

Set the OnSelect property of the Gallery1 to following:

Set(CurrentSelectedItem, Gallery1.Selected)

Then modify your formula as below:

With(
{ BarCodes:
Concat(collectMultiScan,Bardcodeinfo & ",")
},

Patch( 'Box tracker (Test)', CurrentSelectedItem, { 'Boxes tested': BarCodes } )
)

Hope I did make any mistake when i tried to write staff from your screenshots so double check if Your namings matching

Hey, @SebS! Hopefully this clarifies somewhat.

Do you actually have two galleries there, one for Your list and one for Your collection of scanned barcodes?

To clarify, no I do not. I have only the one gallery for the input of the barcodes scanned.

You can't just loop thru records from the collection and apply them by Patch without relating them to a record in the list, so You need to find a way to relate them.

Forgive me, I only followed the directions of some Youtube videos, so I am not quite sure the language of this code. I am more familiar with C++ and other such low level languages, so I have a understanding but not specifically with this part. Specifically I don't understand the relationship between the code and the software to manipulate it.

Another issue is You want to patch all barcodes to a Single text column, right? So You need also concat all barcode records rather than using the ForAll loop, so this part is unclear to me. Do You want all records in a single cell? If Yes here how You could do that but that's also depend on existance of the first gallery.

So my goal here is to save whichever "PROJECT" I am in on the Power App to save that gallery list into that specific Row of the Boxes tested column. Ex. I am on the "Test 2" project, so I would open that project on my app and scan the barcodes on the boxes to this project and theoretically the barcodes scanned would show up in Row "Test 2" on the column "Boxes Tested".

@Calebs98

Ok, then my question is how You open the project?

users create a project and filling main details than another user opening the project what do you mean by this

A. it uses a gallery and going to Edit Screen and you implement the gallery inside of Edit form or next to it where storing the barcodes and from there You want to add them to this specific Project?

B. You have a List of projects in a dropdown and User picking one of them and then You are adding the barcodes?

Also, can you confirm what type of the column is Box tested and how You would like to see barcodes display there.

We have all what we need the only thing missing is how we relate the Barcodes to that project record.

@SebS

Here is a short video I made to show the app in action per se.

https://youtu.be/0cFks6wRd6U

In RED I have highlighted the Row (Project) as example and in BLUE I highlighted the column (Boxes Tested).

As I scan then save the project I would like for them to save as scanned for that specific project. As such: "1406624_*_*,448,600"

*** Hover your mouse over each set of numbers "1406624_*_*,448,600" to get their purpose.

@Calebs98

That was nice video thank you make things easy

1. In the gallery arrow > for Your Project add code:

Set(varProjectID,ThisItem)

Now next to scan button add Submit button so You scan to collection and then after You finish You submit all to SharePoint

In the Submit button add this code

With(
{    BarCodes:
     Concat(collectMultiScan,Bardcodeinfo & "* *,")
},

Patch(
    'Box tracker (Test)',
     {ID: varProjectID.ID},
    {
        'Boxes tested': BarCodes

    }
)
)

Try this approuch

So when I copy and paste this code in the OnSelect of the "Submit" button is gives an error in the coding itself.

it reads "Invalid Number of Arguments: received 3, expected 2."

So I was able to resolve the first error, it was a naming issue. But another still remains:

@Calebs98

{    BarCodes:
     Concat(collectMultiScan,Bardcodeinfo & "* *,")
},

Patch(

     {ID: varProjectID.ID},
    {
        'Boxes tested': BarCodes

    }

)
)

Here is Code in Power App maker
