Hi community,
I am encountering an error using a pipeline to deploy a Solution from an Dev to Test and finally a Prod Environment. The pipeline is setup using the Deployment Pipeline Configuration App an I deployed through that pipe successfully many times before. Today when accessing the pipeline from the Dev Environment to deploy it said:
The Pipeline host environment aaaaaaa-xxxxx-xxxx associated with this environment cannot be found.
The environment Id provided in the error message (aaaaaaa-xxxx) is indeed not the correct environment where the pipeline for the deployment lives in furthermore it does not exists at all (it was probably deleted after somebody tested something). So it seems that the information of the correct Pipeline host environment (bbbbbbb-xxxxx...) got lost from the perspektive of the Dev environment.
In the Deployment Pipeline Configuration App on the Pipeline host environment (bbbbbbb-xxxxx...) everthing ist setup correctly when checking the ID of the Dev Environment:
I tried to add the Dev environment again in Pipeline host environment (bbbbbb-xxxxx...) but the Deployment Pipeline Configuration App did not let me add it because it already exists (even after deactivating). Deleting Dev in the Pipeline host environment (bbbbbb-xxxxx...) is probably an option but I would need to delete the pipeline also and would loose all the deployment history.
To sum it up I have the following questions:
- Did anybody encounter that error before? 😉
- Is there a way to point an environment to its Pipeline host environment?
- How is the Pipeline host environment for an environment set and stored?

here is the solution to this issue. There is a new version of the "Power Platform Pipelines" (9.1.24041.240404023), which needs to be updated through the Power Platform Admin Center. This version offers a "Force Link" button which links the affected environment to the Pipeline Host environment.
So nothing which could have been done by anybody outside Microsoft.
I hope this helps others to resolve this issue whenever it occurs 😀
