Automatically trigger a flow when any file is created in a folder

I'm trying to make it so a flow get triggered when any file is placed in a folder but I cannot get it to work.

Xiarno_0-1644359104229.png

I tried doing the above flow to do that, but it gets stuck at "wait for file" and doesn't move even when a file is created in the folder.

How to make it work correctly, please? Thanks!

Get Files in Folder to %Files1%

Loop While True = True

Get Files in Folder (same folder) to %Files2%

    If %Files2.Count% > %Files1.Count%

        Exit (Loop)

    End(If)

End(Loop)

Have you considered using a regular Power Automate flow with a when a file is created trigger to call the Power Automate Desktop flow?

Sorry I'm still a beginner and only understand the visual thing. I'm not sure how to convert the text to the flow.

What is a "regular Power Automate" flow ?

create a flow in Power Automate Desktop that will automatically trigger when a new file is added to a folder on your local machine and then extract data from the newly added file.

@naidu1811 , loop condition is the loop you want if you are trying to do this in PAD.  Loop Condition while 1=1 or while True=True is a continuous loop and that loop will Exit Loop when a new file comes into the folder.  But this is only useful if you want this running continually until the file is available.  I wouldn't leave this running in the background, only during a situation where you know a file is imminent, like you just downloaded it and are waiting for it to save.

I would think that is possible, but I don't use Amazon S3 enough to give you a good answer.

I'm in the same bucket as PStork.  I don't have any experience, but if you can do it on a computer, I wouldn't see why not.

Launch Chrome and use UIs and keyboard commands to navigate through the steps and load up the file.
There are plenty of YouTubes out there to help show you how to use the UIs, but it's as easy as:

Selecting the action such as "Click Link on Webpage", then you hit the drop down and click "Add UI Element."  Your cursor will hover over UI elements as a red rectangle.  Control + Left Click and it captures the element.  Test thoroughly and frequently.

Good luck!
