IF File Does Not Exist

I would like to check if a file does exist in the folder then launch excel and do the rest of the script, but if the does NOT exist continue with the script to find the next file, if does exist do your things, if not continue to the next code.

For now, if the file does NOT exist in the folder, the script will break because when excel launch it will throw an error cannot find the file in folder path. But I need for the script to continue because the customer did not send their file.  I already send a second request to the customer at the beginning of the script, if they did not send it, I want to script to continue without breaking.  This is what I have.  Please show me the step in PAD (Power Automate Desktop) so I can see it.  Thanks an advance!

I did response and post it a couple screenshots above.  When I replace the \\ with \ before the filename, it put the double backslash right back again.  It doesn't save the change.

I did try the 'Get File in Folder' actions.  It's only work when there's a file in the folder.  If there's no file the script is breaking and looking for the excel file to launch the excel app. 
The reason why we put the loop and the IF statement is when there's no file in the folder, I want for the script to go skip the action below and go to the next line without breaking.  Please see all screenshots

Hi @TTC 

I would suggest to try this approach 

1. Prepare a list having the file names of files you want to check 

2. Use get files in folder to get all files in folder

3. use for each loop to loop through all files in folder 

   3a. extract file name from iterating file and see if it is present in list prepared in step 1

   3b. If list contains file name do the action, else skip it

Is there a way you can show me your step through PAD?

I thought this is what we're being doing in the past.  Your solution work half way, but its only work when the file exist in the folder.  If the file does not exist then the script is breaking.  I believe this is the piece we're missing.

this is how the scrip look now. All the Launch Excel are in this loop. I believe step 1,2,and 3 are being done.  I am not sure about step 3a and 3b.

see this design 

first i define a list variable which is hvaing list of files name to be checked

Next it will retrive all files in a folder

It will loop through all files and check if the file's name is present in list (as created in step1), if yes do the excel operations with that

The script is still breaking when the file does not exit in the folder.  I am hoping I got the step right.

I try it both ways, with file name and with the variable and it still break when the file does not exist in the folder.

Hello,

First, I don't have a %FileList% in my variable.  When I use it I got an error, so I have to use %FileNames%.  I believe I match it as yours.  When the file does not exist in the folder, it skips the entire process and go to the end of the script.

QUESTION: DO I NEED TO REPEAT THE LOOP PROCESS FOR EACH FILE?

I got no error when I use %FileNames%

The only thing I can come with is to block the error when I don't have a file and put a label to go to next file.  I know is not the best practice, but I cannot figure out why it skips the entire process and to go the end when checking for the file that does not exist in the folder.

it looks like by adding another set variable and get files in folder, it works also without block error action and the script does not break when the file does not exist in the folder.
