Missing flows in My Flows

I've encountered an issue where newly saved flows are no longer present in My Flows.

A flow may have been saved multiple times and will show as such in the My Flows panel during a session, however upon closing and restarting Power Automate Desktop there will no longer be any sign of it.

The associated data and .meta files will be present in OneDrive however they aren't being recognized for some reason.

Is there a cap on the maximum number of flows that I may not be aware of, as I'm currently at 99?

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Having deleted a number of flows in batches, what I've found is that there is indeed a limit of 99 flows on my installation of PAD.

Each time I delete a flow, one of those that I considered 'missing' appears in it's place.

Although I'm sure there's some logic behind the order in which they reappear, I don't have visibility into what that may be.  And so far, from a user's perspective, it seems pretty random...sometimes they're older, sometimes recent, not ordered alphabetically, or by size.  My hunch is that it's based on the id tags under which each file is stored, for what it's worth.

So, not so much solved as 'worked around', and at least I've been able to recover and backup those flows that I thought were unsalvageable.

Could you please check desktop flows tab in power automate cloud flow?

@Deenuji

I'd already checked there and it shows

with nothing else under the Desktop Flows tab.

@Deenuji

I do not...

I appreciate you forwarding the link to that discussion, and I had actually spent a little time doing that before making this initial post.

What I found was that although the json response has an odata count of over 300 and mirrors what I'm seeing in OneDrive, the values in the response only amount to 200, which appear to be the 99 .meta files, 99 corresponding data files and two additional, a .cnt and .ud file.

The missing files do not appear by ID in any of the response values, which makes me wonder if they've been flagged for exclusion somehow.

Any thoughts?

@revnut

I'm uncertain about the current approach. Another option that I'm aware of involves retrieving the flow schema details from a Dataverse table named "process."

Deenuji_0-1710351580403.png

If the flow hasn't been deleted from Dataverse, we can access the schema as follows. We can then extract our code from there and potentially make it functional with some dedicated effort.

Deenuji_2-1710351663598.png

But I am not sure how it helpful for your use case.

Hi @revnut ,

We have faced the similar issue in one of our system recently.

If I am right it will also not show the environment in the top of power automate desktop. If you can see the environment just try checking whether you selected the correct environment .If this does not work only below method is the only option we tried.

We have uninstalled and reinstalled the Power automate desktop and the issue is solved we can see the flow and environment both.

Thanks,
Vishnu Reddy

Sounds very similar from what you've described @VishnuReddy1997.  No environment and no environment selection available.

The application updated today, however I've not seen a change in the issue, so with that in mind I'll uninstall the application entirely then try a reinstallation per your suggestion.

My thanks to both you and @Deenuji for trying to help me sort this out.

Hi @revnut ,

Just try to Uninstall and reinstall the PAD and Let me know if it is working.

Thanks,
Vishnu Reddy

@VishnuReddy1997 , No dice unfortunately...was starting to wonder if I've got some corruption in the registry entries for it, however I'm experiencing the same behaviour on two different machines, so it's more likely something in the power automate desktop  onedrive files that they're both pulling from.

Hi @revnut  ,

I just wanted to know from where you installed Power Automate desktop is it from Microsoft store or .exe file from browser.

Please check according to the Installation go and check in app data whether any files got corrupted.

Please clear the data from related folder where the cache is stored and try to install the PAD Again. Below one as example,

the default cache location is:

C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power Automate Desktop\Console\Workspace

If this did not resolve your issue, Please raise a ticket to Microsoft support.

(Note:- if you got your solution you can mark as solution and gives kudos)

Thanks & Regards

Vishnu Reddy

@VishnuReddy1997 ,

I've attempted reinstallation via both methods, deleting the Power Automate Desktop related data from both %localappdata% and %programdata% beforehand.

Still getting the same set of 99 flows back every time though.

I've backed up all of the flows that are showing and that I'm still in a position to open, and I'm going to delete some to see if I get a different set of 99, after which I may try a couple of other things before opening a ticket.

Should I manage to resolve the issue or figure out an effective workaround I'll let you know.

Thanks again for your input.

Hi @revnut ,

@revnut

It's great to learn about your workaround. A few weeks ago, someone else encountered a similar issue, but I'm not aware of how they resolved it when they are facing the same problem of missing flows after reaching 100+ in PAD.

However, I'm  pleased to hear how you managed to resolve this. Thank you for sharing your insights.
