Test connection failed. Details: Name cannot be null or empty

Since yesterday, I was unable to create any new flow or create any new connection in power automate online. Unable to create any step using any tool as it always show the error "Test connection failed. Details: Name cannot be null or empty."

I have tried to log out and in again but the issue persists. Also, I have tried to use another outlook email and the issue also happens.

Is anyone facing this issue? Does any one have a solution for this?

Hi.  Been having this for ages now - Microsoft still hasn't answered - either they are ignoreing the bug report i put in or it didn't go in.  Any created flows still work - its just you can create new ones or edit an existing one that has this connector.

This seems to be going the same way the 365 Developer Sandbox went - working fine 1 day and taken away the next without any explanation (and then wanting you to pay for a developer license before you can use it and learn anything new!!)

Not sure my solution will apply to everyone, however it did work for me. I signed up for a paid developer account @ $15/month and recreated my cloud flows (Ugh!) with the new account. All is working well now.

@DominikGole, as also @JRMazing said, all my standard PA account connections (all of them free) are failing, so it means MS takes you to upgrade your account to a Premium one so you can use all PA automation features....

Personally, I'm moving all my automations to other vendor, Make.com, almost until MS solves or clarifies this.

I started looking at make.com to see if there free plan will cover my needs, I only have 1 simple flow that takes data from an email and adds a row to a spreadsheet. It is super helpfully but I can’t see paying $15/month for that.

How is this even possible ? That is against the agreement. I mean it isn't a premium account but it isn't free so in my opinion that is not a legal move, if that's correct.

M$ wont answer you either if you ask them.  Their customer service is diabolical.  I would be fired if i acted that way towards my customers.

I have the same problem, my connections are all fine, they are connected without errors, but when it comes to execute the flow then it fails with the same error message you guys get.

Since last week iam not able to connect any connector like outlook.com, excel or something else.

Is there any reaction from Microsoft how this can be fixed?

Atm its not possible to create a new flow and exisiting are also broken, so Power Automate is not usable.

I'm having the same problem with the Excel connection. Fixing the connection on the Connections page doesn't work, either.

Not at this moment, I'm trying to reach support by phone. I cannot create a ticket directly:

If any of you have a premium account you will be able to do it. You can check it here: Microsoft Power Automate. If you select to Contact Support and you see "Requires a premium plan" you have no choice to reach them and create a ticket by yourself.

Also, I filled this survey form just in case some PA suport teammate can help: Help improve Power Platform Help+Support (office.com)

If you can also fill it hopefully someone will read and act. Thanks-

So frustrating. I only started using Power Automate due to the shockingly bad spam filters in Outlook.com email.

I've only got one simple flow that runs when I get new email and deletes it if it matches my own spam filter list.

Annoying, but I don't want to pay money for just this.

I really don't understand how the big companies who make sooooo much money can have such bad customer support. The cost of providing some form of support would be completely negligible against their profits.

My current flow isn't working and I can't create a new one that connects back to my outlook email account.

When you change it to "send an E-Mail notification V3" you can send E-Mails another way at least.

And why is this Flow still running it uses the same connectors ???

yes, I was able to create a new flow using outlook.com again !

Maybe they didn't wanted to change the licensing they just had an bad communicated problem / error in their system (again)

Unbelievable, Microsoft actually did it. Issue resolved! I am able to build and run flows using OneDrive, Excel, and Outlook.
