For selected item trigger has stopped working, error displays in new Designer mode

I have an instant flow where the "For selected item" in SharePoint trigger has stopped working.  The flow will display as available in the SharePoint interface, but won't initialize.   I've tried the following to resolve this with no luck.  If anyone knows how to fix this, much appreciated.

I've tried:

  • saving the flow as a copy and renaming it
  • removing the trigger and replacing with a new one
  • using a different browser
  • clearing browser history and cache
  • rebooting computer

In the new Designer mode, here's the error message.  A google of this error message doesn't help.  This error message doesn't show in the Classic mode.

When trying to run the flow from a selected item in SharePoint, the start up window hangs with nothing displayed, even after waiting several minutes.

Here's the settings for the trigger.

Here's the peek code of the trigger

@allan_t You've indicated the error doesn't display in Classic mode. Are you able to run the flow with the Classic Designer?? If not, because you've already edited your flow in the New Designer, have you tried to recreate your flow—switch to the Classic Designer before making any edits?

The New Designer is still buggy. Even if you've made an edit in the New Designer and switch back to the Classic—sometimes it doesn't work and it's better to start fresh.

Hope this helps!

@creativeopinion  That didn't work unfortunately.  I created a flow entirely in Classic designer.  I've even tried using the trigger on a different SharePoint list.  Same issue, the flow shows in the Automation menu in SharePoint interface, but just hangs and won't start.

@allan_t Can you show your flow in the Classic Designer with the actions expanded?

Hi @creativeopinion Here's the flow, setting and peek code.   Thanks for reviewing.

@allan_t I just created a new flow with the same trigger as yours—I was able to trigger from my SP List. No issues. I created a new flow—switched to the Classic Designer before making any edits to my flow. I first tested it without the input field. It ran without issue. Then I added the input field and it ran without issue as well. 🤷‍

@creativeopinion Unfortunately that didn't work for me.  This issue is affecting all my flows that use the "From a selected item" SharePoint trigger.  I opened a Microsoft Support ticket, they indicated there was an outage impacting Power Automate last week, they're still investigating.  Triggers are still not working in my environment.

@allan_t sorry to hear that. Hopefully they can resolve it soon for you!
